It was gonna be murder………..

Well not really, but for the Bonkura’s it might as well be. Yukari was going to give them an exam later that week on what they had covered in class. They knew they were going to bomb big time unless they came up with a plan.

“We can ask Yomi for help.” Kagura suggested.

“Forget it, you know what she’s gonna say.” Tomo answered as she got a serious look in her face. “That’s why you should always keep up with your studies and stop goofing off.” she tried to say in her best Yomi voice.

“Hey that’s good, can you do Konata Izumi?” Osaka asked. Tomo and Kagura just stared at their fellow Bonkura.

“Forget it we’re toast.” Kagura said as she just laid her head on the desk.

“There’s got to be a way.” Tomo said as she began to think hard. “Ow that hurts.” She said.

“Maybe we need to train our brains.” Osaka said as she kept that glassy eyed smile look.

“Wait that’s it.” Tomo said.

“What?” Kagura asked.

“Spiritual help.” Tomo responded. “I heard that there is this Shrine Temple on the other side of Tokyo that help all those in need.”

“Do you really think they can help us?” Kagura asked.

“It couldn’t hurt.” Tomo responded. “We’re heading out there after school.” she said.

Some time later, the girls had made there way to the temple. It was beautiful, the cherry trees, the huge temple, all of it was amazing….. Too bad the bonkuras were to preoccupied with something else to notice the scenery.

“YO ANY MYSTICAL TYPE PEOPLE IN HERE?!!!!” Tomo screamed.

“Nobody seems to be here.” Kagura said as she looked around.

“Maybe we need to look for a doorbell.” Osaka said.

“May I help you.” a voice from behind them said.

The Bonkuras quickly turned around and standing right before them was a young girl that appeared to be the same age as them.

“Well you see, there’s this big test coming up in school and we don’t think we stand a chance of acing it.” Kagura said.

“Ah so you require my assistance?” The girl asked.

“Yeah, can you like, make us smart?” Tomo asked.

“Training the mind is a complicated task.” The girl said. “You must learn to bring out the inner strength from within it to be truly at peace.”

“We don’t want peace, we want smarts.” Tomo said.

“As you wish.” The girl said. “Please come with me.” She said as she started to walk to the temple.

“Wait, we never got your name.” Kagura said.

“I am called Madoka Yoshida.” she responded as she turned around. “It is an honor to meet you.” She then bowed.

Madoka took them into a small dark room which made the trio very nervous. “Please kneel.” she said as the Bonkuras did as she told.

“Now, who shall be the first one?” Madoka asked.

Kagura and Osaka looked at each other. “Tomo.” they said in unison.

“Hey why me?”   Tomo demanded.

“Because this was your idea.” Kagura responded.

“Osaka, you’d like a chance to try something amazing right?” Tomo asked.

Osaka just stared at the wildcat. “You know Tomo, no matter what other people have said….. Even I’m not that crazy.” she said as she closed her eyes and smiled.

Madoka walked up and stood behind the kneeling Tomo. “Relax, this will only take but a moment.” she assured her.

“This isn’t gonna hurt is it?” Tomo asked nervously.

“Only for a second.” Madoka responded.

“WHAT?!!!!!” Tomo screamed.

All you could see the outside of the temple…..

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Tomo screamed from within.

A few seconds later, two figures were seen coming out of the temple in a trail of dust.

After they had reached the bottom of the temple stairs, Kagura and Osaka were gasping for air.

“Wow Osaka, I guess you can run fast, what motivated you?” she asked.

“Fear.” Osaka responded.  After a moment she looked up the stairs. “Poor Tomo, do you think we should go back for her?” she asked.

Kagura also looked up the stairs. “I guess we have to.” She responded.

But at that moment Tomo slowly walked up to them, her eyes seemed to be in a daze.

“T…Tomo?” Kagura asked.

Tomo just stared at the two azu-girls and gave a small smile. “Come, you must come and try this cleansing of the mind, it is most……relaxing.”

Kagura and Osaka just stood their confused.

“Tomo, you seem……. Not like you…. Are you broken.” Osaka asked.

“Not at all my dear Ayumu.” Tomo responded. “It is that now I feel like my mind has been opened into a new world, one that is just waiting to share it’s vast knowledge with me.”

Kagura and Osaka just stared at her with button eyes.

“Something must be wrong, she just called you by your true name.” Kagura said.

“OH NO TOMO IS BROKEN!!!!!!!” Osaka screamed as tears came out of her eyes.

“So then, let us return to the temple so that you too may feel the opening of your mind.” Tomo told them.

“FORGET IT!!!!” Kagura yelled. “In fact we’re going in so that Mystical girl changes you back to the way you was.”

“It is …. ’to the way you were’, my dear Keiko. But I do not wish to return to that horrible version of me.” The former wildcat told them. “I believe I shall enjoy this new version of myself quite fine.” And with that Tomo walked off.

“I just wonder how everyone at school is gonna react to this new Tomo.” Kagura thought.
